Fair play for a fair childhood: Winners of the Youth Sports Games sent a clear message

Thu, 09. August 2018.

Boys and girls in the first group of the Big finale in Sarajevo competed in football and basketball in their own categories and in two age groups. The best of them earned an opportunity to compete at the International finale of the Games in Split where they would represent Bosnia and Herzegovina and measure strength with girls and boys from Croatia and Serbia.

The Games chose a young Ambassador this year as well, six year old Ajla Jusić from Jablanica who plays football with boys and breaks all stereotypes about this sport. Peter Duffy, USAID Mission Director to Bosnia and Herzegovina, declared Ajla as the young Ambassador of the Games and presented her with a football jersey of Luka Modrić, Youth Sports Games Ambassador. In cooperation with the Basketball Federation of BiH and with the financial support of USAID, the Games continued their project “Fair play for a fair childhood” with the goal of providing all children with an equal opportunity for a good childhood and for everyone to learn about tolerance, friendship and fair play together.
