The great final Coca-Cola Cup football tournament for the Zagreb County was held on Monday, started at 11:00 am on the fields of NK Zelengaj in Zagreb.
The program began with a spectacular performance by the Zaprešić Boys and Marko Kutlić. Our host, Doris Pinčić Rogoznica and Zdravko Marić, the President of Plazma Youth Sports Games wished the gathered teams luck for their placement in the national finals.
''We started the season of Plazma Youth Sports Games in January, and after a short break we continued our season. The children showed us all how responsible they are and from their example we, adults, can learn a lot. It is important that we remain responsible and take care of each other" stated Mr. Marić. More than 45 teams in the U15 and U18 categories for boys and girls, competed for a place in the finals of the Plazma Youth Sports Games, which will be held in Split. Representatives of the Ministry of the Interior also hung out with the footballers and their fans as a part of the Joint educational campaign "Be a fan, not a smasher" and the National Road Safety Program.
The Coca-Cola Cup is the largest football tournament in Europe, which will gather more than 40,000 competitors in more than 170 tournaments in Croatia this year. As of this year, under the auspices of UEFA, the category of women's football has been introduced, as a part of the campaign to promote football among girls, equality and fair play.
